GLOSSIER — THE BAG
A speculative product extension translating Glossier’s most recognizable brand codes into a new object: The Bag.
01.
OVERVIEW
The Bag is an independent concept project exploring how Glossier’s identity could extend beyond beauty and into accessories.
Rather than designing an isolated product, the project began with a morphological study of the brand: its color language, packaging, proportions, graphic elements and the visual codes surrounding products such as Glossier You and Balm Dotcom. These elements became the foundation for imagining a product that does not exist, but still feels immediately connected to the Glossier universe.
02.
CREATIVE APPROACH
The creative process focused on identifying which elements make Glossier recognizable even without relying heavily on its logo.
Soft forms, blush tones, bold red accents and familiar beauty references were translated into the bag’s shape, materials and details. A Balm Dotcom-inspired charm creates a direct connection between the fictional accessory and Glossier’s existing product world.
The campaign imagery extends the same logic, combining product, styling and color into a playful yet controlled visual system that feels native to the brand.
03.
OUTCOME
The result is a fictional product extension supported by a complete visual world, from product concept and details to campaign imagery.
The project demonstrates how morphological analysis can be used to identify a brand’s core visual DNA and translate it into a completely new product category while preserving recognition and consistency.
